The Public Health Institute (PHI) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting health, well being, and quality of life for all people through research and evaluation, training and technical assistance, and by building community partnerships.
Since its inception in 1964, PHI has grown to be one of the largest public health nonprofit agencies in the United States. It has an annual budget of $75 million and a staff of over 600, including researchers, community specialists, and project directors. At any given time, PHI manages up to 250 active projects funded by state and federal government agencies and private foundations.
