The California Emergency Contraception (EC) Network is a coalition of more than 40 organizations and individuals dedicated to improving access to EC and protecting women's health by sharing information and strategies among it's broad constituency of stakeholders, including but not limited to clinicians, pharmacists, state and local officials, public health departments, researchers, advocacy groups, and health educators.
Based on the changing environment for EC since it has become available over-the-counter (OTC) and the resulting shift in donor priorities away from EC, the CA EC Network will no longer coordinate semi-annual meetings or distribute general email updates. Members of the CA EC Network are encouraged to continue to work together on the critical issue of making Plan B available OTC to women of all ages, reducing cost barriers, and increasing community and provider awareness of EC. We believe that in the current environment, strategic partnerships between organizations will yield the most fruitful results without duplicating the existing initiatives of any member organizations.
